SYC was founded by Fred Mitchell. His family suffered a tragic incident which is featured on this site. For years he has maintained a web page on DYFS and the horrors they committed against his son, Andy. Responses were so overwhelming that Fred felt compelled to establish the SYC web site, so that it may serve as a central focus for this country's most insidious and most under-reported problems. Families who have been abused by CYS can come here for help, and to see that they are not alone.
Fred Mitchell is the father of 3 children, which are featured on his Andromeda website. He is a self-taught mathematician and would-be scientist, though he does Software Engineering for a living. He has great dreams for the future, the future of his kids, the future of technology, and the future of mankind. Where most are of the opinion that the world is going to "Hell in a hand basket", Fred remains convinced that the current crop of problems are only "growth pains" of a super-culture that is undergoing drastic changes from generation to generation. He sees great challenges ahead for the world with regards to the distribution of resources and the environment. But he remains utterly convinced that Homo-Sapiens will solve these and other problems that faces it for the next 1024 years.
Fred is very annoyed that America makes so much ado about nothing when it comes to issues of dermal chromatics. He has a hard time understanding why so many wish to box themselves and others in to "self-limiting visions" based solely on the level of pigment in their skin. While most civilized people have put the bulk of these problems behind them, the media and the government still plays up to the old stereotypes and notions, attempting to pigeonhole everyone into categories that no longer fit, if they ever did. He thinks that this annoyance will pass in another generation or two.
Parental Rights are everybody's business. It is as important for the children involved as it is for the parents. To that end, Fred is devoted to doing whatever he can to further parental rights, to restore the Sovereignty, Rights and Privacy of Families in America. Families must be able to raise and nurture their children as they see fit without needless intervention by the government in any form. Fred's Libertarian blood boils when he sees atrocities committed against innocent families by the government. We must fight for our rights, and to restore the Family - regardless the composition -- to the proper respect and freedom it deserves.
